(VERNON, IN) - A Columbus teen pleaded guilty to the murder of an elderly Jennings County couple and attempting to escape from the county jail.

18-year-old Ryan Renfroe made the guilty pleas Wednesday afternoon in Jennings County Circuit Court.

He was accused of murdering Gregg and Marguerite Gough of Lovett in September. In October, he and two other Jennings County jail inmates were involved in an escape plot that led to the stabbing of a jail guard.

According to Jennings County Prosecutor Alan L. Marshall, Renfroe faces 90 to 138 years in prison.

Sentencing is set for February 3rd.
