(PAOLI, IN) - Orange County will receive $3,497,561 for a water infrastructure project.

According to Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman, the money will come from the federal Community Development Block Grant program to provide safe, clean drinking water.

The grant will fund the construction of 24 miles of treated water transmission mains in the Patoka Lake Regional Water and Sewer District which will provide water service to residents in Orange, Washington and Harrison counties.

Extending water service is needed to replace well water because of poor ground water quality in the area.
