Man Shot And Killed In Nashville

(NASHVILLE, IN) - A man was shot and killed Thursday evening in Nashville.

The Brown County Sheriff Department was releasing no information last night, but according to police dispatch logs, a call was reported to the Brown County Sheriff Department at around 7:20PM with a man suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Once at the location(in the 6000 block of Carmel Ridge Road), police declared the area a crime scene.

Brown County Coroner Brown County Coroner Earl Piper has confirmed that the 40-year-old man is dead, suffering a gunshot wound to his head.

When asked to comment on the manner of the man's death, Piper stated "I'm in the investigatory stage with the detective" (at this time).

A Lifeline helicopter landed at Carmel Ridge Road and State Road 45, but took off without a patient on board; a hearse later arrived at the scene.
