Lawrence County Trooper Promoted To Sergeant

(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - The Superintendent of the Indiana State Police, Paul E. Whitesell, Ph.D., has announced the promotion of Senior Trooper Jason Cobb to the rank of Sergeant.

Sergeant Cobb will now serve as the Crime Scene Investigator over Laboratory Field Service Area #15 which serves Bartholomew, Brown, Jackson, Jennings, Lawrence, Monroe, Orange, Scott and Washington counties.

He will assist criminal investigations by providing forensic crime scene support and maintaining security and continuity of physical evidence.

Cobb, who is originally from Bedford, is a 1993 graduate of Bedford High School.

He attended Indiana University before being accepted to the Indiana State Police Recruit Academy.

Sergeant Cobb graduated from the academy in August of 1997.

After his appointment, he was assigned as a Trooper to the Toll Road and the Jasper Post before working at the Bloomington Post for the past 10 years.

Sergeant Cobb, his wife and two children currently live in Lawrence County.
