Last updated on Tuesday, October 27, 2009

(BEDFORD, IN) - In the early hours of Friday morning, Indiana State Police Trooper Michael Robbins joined Officer Bill Allen of the Oolitic Police Department in attempting to locate a man wanted on warrant for arrest.

The two officials began their search for the wanted man by visiting a residence located at 228 M Street in Bedford.

While exiting their parked patrol car Officer Allen and Trooper Robbins both smelled a strong chemical smell coming from inside a modular home located on the property.

After moving closer to the residence, the two noticed that the smell became stronger the closer they got, they also discovered several 20 ounce soda bottles that contained a substance that appeared to be pill dough which the officers say is consistent with the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

After requesting additional troopers to assist with the case, a search warrant was obtained and executed for the home at around 4:00AM.

Kenneth D. Helton, Starr L. Helton and Kenneth J. Helton were all taken into custody by police and booked into the Lawrence County Jail.
