(PAOLI, IN) - Orange County Sheriff Richard Dixon is warning area residents to be on the look-out for an unknown female who is approaching residents, churches and businesses asking for money.

Police say that the woman will typically use a story of financial hardship and ask for a money loan to buy clothes for her husband so he can dress nicely for a job interview.

Although police advise that their are many different variations of that story; another is a plea for money to be used so that the woman can visit a dying relative.

She is described as being 35 to 40-years-old with brown hair, heavy set and around 5' 2" in heigth, with tattoos on her arms. Dixon says that "if you are approached by a stranger asking for help, contact local law enforcement."

He says "there are many resources in Orange County and we can usually put someone in need in contact with groups or agencies that can help."

Anyone with information is advised to call the Orange County Sheriff Department at 812-723-2417.
