Last updated on Wednesday, October 7, 2009

(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - A Perry Township fire truck was destroyed this morning following a crash.

According to Perry Clear-Creek Fire Protection District and Volunteer Fire Department Chief Jeff Calabrese, two firetrucks were on their way back to the fire station after assisting the Van Buren Township with extinguishing a fire when one of the trucks struck a tree.

Two firefighters were treated and released from a Bloomington hospital following the crash.

Calabrese says that the fire tanker which was totaled by the wreck, will most likely be replaced.

Perry Township now only has one fire truck.
