(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - Indiana University Bloomington and the IU Foundation have surpassed the $1 billion mark for their fund-raising campaign.
Officials say the "matching the promise" campaign still needs to raise some $84 million over the next eight months in order to meet their $1.1 billion goal.
The initiative was launched six years ago to provide scholarships and fellowships, funding for faculty chairs to attract and retain leading academic talent and high-quality teaching and research facilities.
