(BEDFORD, IN) - Are you hearing loud noises and feeling the ground shake? Well you are not alone because several Lawrence County residents are reporting hearing loud explosion type noises and feeling the ground shake.
According to both the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department and the Bedford Police Department, Crane Naval Warfare Center has been "de-milling" this morning at their demolition range.
One resident, located about 14 miles to the northeast of Crane, says that the explosions in his area occasionally knocked out electricity at his work.
NSWC Crane says that de-milling occurs at Crane on a regular basis and that explosions should have been no louder than any other than any other day.
Crane officials note that due to the clear conditions outside, noises may have traveled farther making them seem louder.
