Arrest Made In Connection With Fatal Car Wreck

(SULLIVAN, IN) - The Greene County Sheriff’s Department has made an arrest in connection with a two vehicle crash that killed two people on October 2nd in western Greene County.

22-year-old Tra Ryan Hibbard of Sullivan, was taken into custody and booked in to the Greene County Jail Saturday morning following a week-long investigation by the Sheriff's Department into the crash.

Victor E. Newton and Debra Newton, a passenger in Victor's minivan died in the car wreck when T. Hibbard, who was driving his vehicle while intoxicated, caused the collision.

Hibbard is being charged with two counts of reckless homicide, both class C felonies; one count of theft, a class D felony; three counts of criminal recklessness, all class C felonies; one count of driving while suspended with a prior conviction, a class A misdemeanor; two counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated resulting in death, both class C felonies; and three counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated resulting in serious bodily injury, all class D felonies.
