Wedding Reception Theft Gaining National Attention

(SEYMOUR, IN) - Tuesday’s story about a newlywed couple having a metal bird cage filled wedding cards and cash stolen during their reception has gained media attention nation-wide.

Aaron and Margaret Thompson Brown were celebrating the reception of their marriage Saturday when an uninvited guest reportedly made away with a large wire bird cage that held stacks of congratulatory cards filled with an estimated $5,000.

Assistant Police Chief Craig Hayes said he has received calls from journalists with ABC television based in New York City and Chicago; the story has also made appearances in the New York Times, the Chicago Tribune and the Seattle Times.

No one has been arrested for the theft yet and police are asking that Anyone with information contact them at 812-522-1234.
