Newspaper Files For Bankruptcy

(SEYMOUR, IN) - The parent company of the Seymour and Jackson County Tribune announced yesterday that the company has filed for bankruptcy protection.

Freedom Communications Inc. Interim Chief Executive Officer Burl Osborne said that the company plans on doing business as normal.

The company says it filed a chapter 11 bankruptcy petition in federal court on Tuesday, which allows a company to restructure its debts under the supervision of a court while continuing normal everyday operations.

Richard Davis, Publisher of The Tribune additionally like to stressed that the company's filing is to preserve the business and not result in liquidation of the newspaper.

Davis added "they've subscribed to us yesterday, they subscribed to us today and we'll deliver their paper again tomorrow."
