Police Say Attempted Abductions Were False

Last updated on Tuesday, September 8, 2009

(BEDFORD, IN) - Bedford Police informed WBIW today that the two attempted child abductions taking place last week outside school walls are now considered to be non-legitimate reports.

Police Chief Dennis Parsley said that one of the attempted abductions turned out to be the young child's older family member playing a prank on the boy and that the other report was completely false.

Commenting on the incident, Chief Parsley acknowledged how well the two children, parents and schools responded to the potentially dangerous situation.
