Three Injured In Fiery Interstate Crash

(JACKSON COUNTY, IN) - Three people were injured following a fiery car wreck Saturday afternoon.

A van and a jeep were traveling on Interstate 65 between Uniontown and Crothersville south of Seymour, when a bicycle sitting on top of the Jeep lost stability and fell onto the highway in the path of the van.

The driver of the van, 35-year-old, Deanna Ware, swerved her car in attempt to miss hitting the bicycle, lost control, and flipped the car on its top, and the vehicle flipped at least two times before coming to its final landing place.

Passing motorists who witnessed the wreck helped to free the three riding in the Chevrolet Venture before it became engulfed in flames.

Two Jackson County ambulances transported the three to Schneck Medical Center.

According to police Deanna Ware complained of pain to her head, arms and knees.

Leslie Ware complained of pain in the neck, back and sides.

Damarr Ware complained of pain in the head, neck, back and pelvis.

A PHI Medical Helicopter was also called to the scene as a precaution but was not needed.
