Orleans To Hold Public Hearing On Proposed Budget

Last updated on Tuesday, August 25, 2009

(ORLEANS, IN) - During an Orleans Town Council meeting taking place this past Thursday, Town Clerk Robert Henderson updated the council on the revised 2010 budget estimates.

During his update, Henderson noted that a public hearing on the proposed budget was set for September 2nd at noon at the town hall building.

Henderson stated that "we are very likely looking at some lean times and belt tightening going into this new budget."

Making comment to revenue shortfalls due to property tax reform and an economic downturn, Henderson added, "we are going to have to watch our overall spending closley from this point on."

Formal adoption of the budget is expected to take place during the council's October meeting.
