Minister Killed In Collision

(BLOOMFIELD, IN) - A well known retired minister in Bloomfield has died as a result of a two vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon.

82-year-old Billy Ed Hostettler of rural Bloomfield was traveling westbound on state road 54 when, for unknown reasons, his vehicle veered left of center and struck a 2000 Kia Sportage head-on.

Hostettler died at the scene at around 1:13PM yesterday afternoon according to police reports.

According to Greene County Lt. Goodrich, Hostettler suffered from a medical condition which may have caused him to lose control of the vehicle.

The driver of the other vehicle, 71-year-old Wanda Deckard suffered multiple internal injuries, lower leg injuries, multiple and possible lung injuries.

Deckard was transported from Bloomington Hospital to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with her condition being listed as serious.
