Bedford Students On Their Way Back To School

Last updated on Tuesday, August 18, 2009

(BEDFORD, IN) - Bedford Community Schools students are on their way back to school this morning and Indiana State Police urges motorists to watch out for school bus traffic this morning.

State Police suggest parents should put everything children carry in a backpack or school bag so items are not dropped or lost along the way.

Police also suggest that children should also leave home on time so they can walk to the bus stop and arrive on time, students should stand away from the edge of the road to protect themselves from traffic.

Have your child make eye contact with the bus driver and stay at least 10 giant steps away from the bus so the bus driver can see the students as they enter or exit the bus.

Students should wait until the bus driver signals them to proceed.

Mitchell Community Schools returned to session Monday morning.
