Arsons Put Firefighters To Work

Last updated on Thursday, August 20, 2009

(PLEASANT RUN, IN) - Pleasant Run Volunteer Fire Department Fire Fighters were called once again to the sight were several arsons have taken place over the past few months.

Knob Creek Road, located near Heltonville is the location of the fires.

Fire crews have been called more than three times to Knob Creek Road to put out the flames of several different abandoned buildings, twice already this month.

Fire Crews had previously put out the flames of a burning garage earlier this month following the total loss of the house next door.

When fire crews arrived at the all to familiar residence last night, they discovered that the unknown arsons had finished off what they started, burning the garage to the ground.

A $5,000 reward has been set for anyone who can provide information resulting in a conviction for the crime.

According to Steve Nolan, Chief of the Pleasant Run Volunteer Fire Department, many of the residents are very frightened due to the recent activity.

Nolan encourages anyone with any information to call the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department at 275-3316.
