(BEDFORD, IN) - Yesterday evening during the Bedford Council meeting, General Motors announced that the last of 30 remaining layed off employees have now been rehired as part of the "New GM".
A General Motors representative attended the council meeting last night to talk with council members on possible tax abatements for the company when the announcement was made.
During a Bedford Chamber of Commerce luncheon last week, General Motors announced to Chamber members that all but around 30 originally layed off employees had been rehired.
The employees have now either been re-employed in GM in Bedford or at GM in Indianapolis.
