Wet Roads Cause Wreck

Last updated on Friday, July 31, 2009

(LAWRENCE COUNTY, IN) - Wet roads are blamed for a single vehicle accident Thursday evening.

Two people were riding in a Ford F-150 on US 50 East yesterday evening at around 11:44PM.

As the truck maneuvered around a sharp curve the vehicle skidded out-of-control, went off of the road and hit a mailbox. The truck then traveled over an embankment before coming to its rest, tightly pressed against a utility pole.

When police arrived at the scene they noticed several electrical lines that had fallen as a result of the wreck.

Duke Energy was notified and both people in the truck left the scene with minor cuts to their hands.

Thursdays rain showers may have caused some county roads to be a little more wet than others.
