(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police Officials are continuing to investigate a sexual assault that happened at a residence on the 700 block of South Woodlawn Avenue at around 5:00 AM Sunday (July 19th) morning.

The victim of the sexual assault, a 27-year-old woman told police that she woke up to find an unknown man in her bedroom.

After indicating that the man was carrying a knife, the intruder tied her up with an electrical cord and sexually assaulted her multiple times.

It is believed that the intruder entered the home by standing on a chair and climbing through an unlocked window; the man left her residence with both the victim's purse and laptop.

In addition to a jagged cut or scar under his right eye, the suspect is described as a white male, with short blonde hair, blue eyes, 6'3'' tall, and around 200 pounds, and a more muscular build.

Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact Sergeant Jeff Canada at 812-349-3321.
