Legislators Pass New State Budget

Last updated on Wednesday, July 1, 2009

(STATEHOUSE) - Legislators have passed a new state budget and adjourned until November.

Most democrats voted against the plan, including in the house, where the party holds the majority.

But house republicans, who voted en masse against a budget at the end of the regular session, voted solidly for this one, praising it as protecting taxpayers by controlling spending.
