Hammack's Body Recovered

Last updated on Monday, July 20, 2009

(ORLEANS) - The body of 19-year-old Jared Hammack of Orleans has finally been recovered from Paint Rock Creek in Wyoming.

Professional divers were brought in from Billings Montana and were able to recover his body Sunday.

Reverend Tom Bostic of The Orleans Christian told WBIW that it took crews so long to find Hammack due to high raging waters.

Since then the waters have drastically gone down, enabling the "swift water divers" to recover his body.

Jared fell into Paint Rock Creek Monday, July 6th after attempting to get onto his horse while beside the creek and slipped on wet ground.

He was vacationing with his family in Wyoming when the accident happened.

The public is welcome to make financial donations to help the family with expenses related to the incident with donations being made to an account at the Fifth Third Bank in Orleans.

Bank personnel will assist anyone wishing to contribute to the fund.

The family will soon be heading home to Orleans, a group of friends and family traveling with Hammack came home today (July 20th).
