Escapee Back In Police Custody

Last updated on Friday, July 24, 2009

(INDIANAPOLIS) - The last of three Indiana State Prison escapees is back in police custody.

46-year-old convicted murderer Mark Booher was arrested around noon today at the Inn Town Suites near 86th and Michigan in Indianapolis.

The U.S. Marshal's Office Spokesman Dave Murtaugh says he is being taken to the Plainfield Correctional Facility in Hendricks County.

It's not clear yet whether Booher was arrested without a fight. He and two other inmates escaped July 12th through the underground tunnel system of the maximum-security prison in Michigan City.

Convicted murderer Charles Smith was captured the following day in Grand Beach, Michigan.

Authorities arrested convicted rapist Lance Battreal Tuesday at his parents' home in Rockport, Indiana.
