Two people are injured after a plane crash in Marion Township but are in stable condition.

One victim was airlifted to Louisville.

No word yet on the cause of the crash, Marion Township Fire Department Chief Zeeks said that the two injured were "just stuck" in the plane as it layed in the middle of a field upside down.

Emergency crews have re-opened the section of Ind. 60 that was closed off originally and now moving in one-lane traffic.

Officials are now waiting for a fuel leak to stop leaking.

When the plane hit the ground one man was able to get out. The other was free, but still inside the plane because his path out was blocked. Deputies and firemen were able to pick up the small plane to free him.

Zeeks said the plane was up about 1,000 feet when the engine stopped and the pilot tried to safely glide down.

The plane crashed into waste high grass that stands above muddy water.

Chief Zeke said that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will clean-up the wreckage but is not sure how soon clean-up will begin.
