Flooding Compromising Some Roads In Jackson County

Last updated on Monday, May 4, 2009

(UNDATED) - Flood warnings continue along the White River East Fork today, tomorrow and, in some areas, Wednesday.

National Weather Service hydrologists say the White River East Fork in Seymour is expected to fall below flood stage by tomorrow morning and the warning shouldn't last past tomorrow evening.

In Jackson County, officials are reporting problems along IN-235 near Medora, as well as CR25 North and Slab Road.

The same story is forecast for Spencer and Newberry as well. In Elliston, the river is looking to remain high for a little while longer.

The warning continues until Wednesday afternoon which is when they expect water levels to fall below flood stage.

Most flooding has been minor, however, and isn't expected to get beyond that level at any point.
