Last updated on Tuesday, May 5, 2009

(COLUMBUS) - Officials say more than 500 workers at Cummins midrange engine plant are working two days this week, and future production and staffing levels are uncertain.

Cummins learned Monday that Chrysler closed its pickup truck plant in Saltillo, Mexico for at least the next four weeks because of a manufacturing shutdown.

The Saltillo plant receives engines from the Columbus plant.
