Bedford Police Officer One Of Two Killed In Shooting

Last updated on Monday, May 18, 2009

(BEDFORD) - Yesterday morning Lawrence County Police Officers responded to a call of shots fired at a home 1051 Trenton Circle just outside Bedford.

When police arrived on scene they found the bodies of a male and female dead of apparent gun shot wounds, from what appeared to be a murder suicide.

The male subject was recognized by officers as a member of the Bedford Police Department, 35 year old Kyle Brown.

After discovering it was Brown the officers contacted Indiana State Police In Bloomington to head up the investigation.

Police identified the bodies of Brown as well as 29 year old Kathryn Tucker, who had just recently ended a relationship with Brown.

It would appear that yesterday morning Brown drove his personal vehicle to Tucker's home and allegedly forced his way into her home.

According to Lawrence County Coroner John Sherrill both subjects died from apparent gunshot wounds and Brown's fatal wound appeared to be consistent with a self inflicted one.
