Police Looking For Suspect In O'Malia's Armed Robbery

Last updated on Thursday, April 9, 2009

(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police are on the hunt for a man they say pulled a gun and robbed the O’Malia’s grocery store on College Mall Drive.

The Bloomington Herald Times reports a man walked into the O'Malia's and brandished a .45 caliber handgun at the customer service desk demanding money.

The suspect was handed a sack full of cash, and then ordered the manager to walk into the back office of the store. As soon as the manager turned to walk back, the robber took off running out the front door, and the manager then proceeded to call police.

The man is described as 5'10", 240 pounds, and appeared to be about 40 years old.

He was last seen wearing a camouflage Mossy Oak baseball cap, sunglasses and either a sweatshirt or coat and had facial hair along with a scar on his right cheek that almost looks like an old knife wound.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Bloomington police at 339-4477.
