Man Accused Of Wrecking Car While Drunk, Leaving Friend Trapped Inside

(BLOOMINGTON) - A man in Bloomington is in custody accused of causing an accident that injured four while driving drunk.

The Bloomington Herald Times reports 21-year-old Michael Farris is facing charges of driving while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury and for leaving the scene of an accident along with a couple outstanding warrants.

The paper says Farris was driving on North Dunn Street near Griffy Lake doing about 55 or 60mph when he tried to take a curve, missed it, and rolled the car down an embankment with four of his friends inside.

When police arrived the found 4 of the 5 people walking, and they had left the 5th person trapped in the car.

The trapped individual was taken to Bloomington Hospital for facial fractures, Farris was arrested, and the other three were treated for minor injuries.
