Jailers Screening Incoming Inmates For Swine Flu

Last updated on Thursday, April 30, 2009

(UNDATED) - Local leaders are doing what they can to prepare for any possible instance of swine flu in and around the listening area.

At the Lawrence County Security Center, Sheriff Sam Craig tells us he and his crew have been making plans to prevent the bug from getting into the facility, and also planning on what to do just in case it does.

Craig says the Lawrence County Security Center will be screening all new inmates for swine flu as they take them in.

Additionally they are making a checklist of symptoms for current inmates, and should they find swine flu in the facility, that inmate would then be isolated and handled from there with help from the health department.
