(BLOOMINGTON) - Researchers at Indiana University in Bloomington think the NCAA ticket lottery system should be scrapped for an options-based system.
A research project conducted between Indiana Univerisity's Kelley School of Business and the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill's Kenan-Flagler Business School says consumers would find an options-based system easy to understand, and the researchers say the system would help get rid of scalping while also booting athletic profits and fan participation.
The options-based system would allow fans to buy options to purchase tickets, especially to post-season and other tournament events, without being actually required to do so.
