(INDIANAPOLIS) - The Indiana Supreme Court has upheld Tommy Ray Pruitt’s conviction and death sentence.
He was sentenced to death for the 2001 murder of Morgan County Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Starnes.
Pruitt had filed an appeal based upon a US Supreme Court decision which prohibited the death sentence for persons with mental retardation.
