Coroner Looking Into Death In Downtown Bloomington Accident

Last updated on Thursday, April 9, 2009

(BLOOMINGTON) - The Monroe County Coroner’s office is looking into the death of a Bloomington man after a Tuesday night accident near downtown since he believes it’s possible the death may not be accident related.

The Bloomington Herald Times reports 39-year-old Stephen Wade of Bloomington was headed west on Kirkwood, ran off the right side of the road and struck a large sign support post at Rogers Street.

Reports say Wade was still conscious but not responsive when EMTs arrived on scene Tuesday night, but he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Bloomington Hospital.

Officials say he used to own, but still worked at The Peach Garden restaurant near 2nd and College in Bloomington.
