(LOUISVILLE, KY) - WBIW Lawrence County Spelling Bee champ Hannah Hawkins took part in the Derby Festival Spelling Bee in Louisville over the weekend, and finished in the top half.
The Bedford Middle School 7th grader went out on the word "minstrel," finishing 23rd out of 58 contestants.
In the WBIW Lawrence County Spelling Bee on Tuesday, February 24th, Hawkins won a $100 savings bond, a WBIW T-shirt, a trophy and her ticket to the Derby Spelling Bee.
