Trial Date Set For Murder Of Monroe County Jailer From Bedford

(BLOOMINGTON) - A trial date has been set in the shooting death of a Lawrence County man who worked as a jailer in the Monroe County jail.

The Bloomington Herald Times reports 29-year-old Benjamin Steinberg will stand trial on a murder charge on October 19th of this year.

39-year-old Monroe County Jail Officer Bill Brand was shot to death in just over 4 years ago by an assault rifle as he was on his way to his Bedford home from work.
