Sandwich Shop Dispute Involving Gun Lands Two From Mitchell In Jail

Last updated on Friday, March 6, 2009

(BEDFORD) - A dispute over a paycheck put two people in jail yesterday afternoon in Bedford.

Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley tells WBIW News officers were called to the recently opened Penn Station sandwich shop in Bedford's Wal-Mart Plaza when employees saw an ex-employee walk in with a handgun tucked into his waistband.

Parsley says 21-year-old Kevin Jamison got into a dispute with a manager at the store over a paycheck he felt he was still owed, and then called 911 himself while officers were already en route saying the manager refused to pay him.

When officers arrived, they secured Jamison and his passenger, 20-year-old Jessica Tolliver of Mitchell, and found not only Jamison's pistol, but also reportedly found small amounts of marijuana on both.

Both were taken to Lawrence County jail, Tolliver on drug charges, and Jamison also for intimidation with a deadly weapon and possession of a handgun without a permit.
