Last updated on Wednesday, March 18, 2009

(BLOOMFIELD) - Greene County Sheriff Terry Pierce is worried about meth, specifically, about what the medical costs that come from it will cost his budget.

The Greene County Daily World reports the Greene County Security Center is seeing more meth-related and meth-addicted inmates come through their gates could increase the jail's medical costs to more than $100,000 this year.

That's quite a bit more than $56,000 they spent 3 years ago, and even more than the $50,000 they have budgeted for medical costs this year.

The paper reports that, this year, the Greene County Security Center has spent nearly half their budget already.
