(BEDFORD) - An Ohio based company that issued gift certificates has gone under, but the Bedford Chamber of Commerce says their certificates are still safe.
CertifiChecks, a Dayton, Ohio based gift certificate company, announced Thursday that they filed for bankruptcy, and have closed their doors.
Bedford Chamber of Commerce President Adele Bowden-Purlee says the chamber used to do business with them to handle the chamber's gift certificates, however, she says they discontinued that relationship in 2007, moving to a local apparatus with a local financial institution.
Other Indiana Chambers of Commerce have been using them, so if you have a CertifiChecks gift certificate, contact the person you bought it from, as it may not be valid anymore.
