(UNDATED) - Despite today's snowfall being relatively small, especially when compared to last Wednesday's near white-out, the speed at which it came down caused a number of problems in the listening area.
The National Weather Service declared a winter weather advisory for Lawrence, Monroe, Brown and Jackson counties but that expired at noon today.
However, an advisory for the south, including Orange, Washington and Crawford Counties, remains in effect until 7:00pm tonight.
A few slide-offs and property damage accidents have been reported in Lawrence County according to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley.
The Indiana State Police Jasper District, which covers Orange and Martin Counties, says state and US highways are snow covered with some drifting, and county and smaller roads are also covered.
For the Bloomington District, which includes Lawrence, Greene, Monroe, and Brown Counties, ISP Sgt. Curt Durnil says there are areas of IN-37 and IN-46 that are snowed over, but overall most areas are passable, and people appear to be driving more carefully.
Durnil tells WBIW News, "By the time this is over, we should be pretty good at driving in this weather!"
