Lt. Gov. Candidate Made An "Error In Judgement" In OWI Case

Last updated on Tuesday, February 10, 2009

(ENGLISH) - Former state representative Dennie Oxley is speaking out about his recent arrest on suspicion of drunk driving.

The 38-year-old says he made "an error in judgment" following a Southern Indiana car crash. Oxley was arrested after his vehicle struck a parked car in the Crawford County town of Taswell.

The Democrat expressed relief that no one was injured in the crash. He now works as an adviser to the Democratic Caucus in the Indiana House.

Oxley ran unsuccessfully last year for lieutenant governor. His father, also named Dennie Oxley, was elected to replace his son in the House.

The Crawford County Sheriff's Department is declining comment on the case.
