Greene County School Locked Down By Bomb Threat

Last updated on Thursday, February 26, 2009

(LINTON) - A bomb threat evacuated Linton-Stockton Junior-Senior High School yesterday, and police are looking for the culprit.

The Greene County Daily World reports a handwritten threat was found written on a wall inside a boy's bathroom yesterday afternoon, right around 1:00pm, that included a detonation time and two initials.

At that time, police were called in, along with the K-9 bomb squad team from Crane, and all the students were first evacuated to the high school gym, and then to the elementary school gym.

The campus was locked down and students went home at their normal time, and no injuries were reported.

Schools in Greene County have dealt with bomb threats before.

Back in August of 2007, two threats were called in by 16-year-old twin sisters Macy and Gracey Stone, who later pled guilty to the crime, at Bloomfield schools.

No explosive devices, however, were found in any of the incidents, past or present.
