(BEDFORD) - A boil order has been announced for water customers of Bedford City Utilities, East Lawrence Water and Oolitic Water customers until further notice.
The boil order stems from a major water main break that occurred overnight at 9th and J Streets in Bedford.
Water officials say customers should bring their water to a rolling boil for at least 2 minutes, or use bottled water.
Officials say the cleaned water should be used for all consumption including brushing teeth, food preparation, and making ice.
