(BLOOMINGTON) - A truck was stolen Monday night from a Bloomington movie theater parking lot, and was found yesterday…in the icy waters of Lake Monroe.
The Bloomington Herald Times reports a couple were catching a flick at the Kerasotes Showplace 12 on 3rd Street near IN-37, and when they came back out to come home, they realized their GMC Sierra pickup wasn't where they left it.
Yesterday, a passerby noticed tire tracks leading into the water at the Moore's Creek Ramp and called police and, sure enough, there was the truck.
Dive crews were sent into the water to check out the scene and found no one inside.
Officials say the truck will have to remain at the bottom of the lake until it thaws.
