Last updated on Friday, January 9, 2009

(BEDFORD) - A two car wreck sent one person to the hospital yesterday morning in downtown Bedford.

Bedford police reports say 81-year-old Glenn Smith of Bedford was heading east on 16th Street approaching a red light at L Street, however, when he tried to stop at the light, his pickup slid on the snowy roadway, went through the light, and struck a Pontiac driven by 48-year-old Judith McCracken near her driver's side door.

McCracken's car slid right and then struck a traffic signal pole at the intersection just a block west of city hall. Smith was treated at the scene for minor bleeding, McCracken was taken by ambulance to Dunn Memorial Hospital for a complaint of neck pain.

No citations were issued.
