(COLUMBUS, OH) - A Greene County truck driver has been involved in a fatal accident in Central Ohio.

The Columbus Dispatch of Columbus, Ohio, reports 53-year-old James Watkins of Columbus, Ohio hit a guardrail on Interstate 71 in the Buckeye State's capital, causing him to bounce off and come to a rest in the center lane of the freeway.

Shortly afterward, an Old Dominion Line semi driven by Edward Perry of Jasonville struck Watkin's pickup, crushing both truck and driver underneath the trailer. Perry was not injured.

The Dispatch says the cause of the accident remains under investigation.
