Last updated on Monday, January 26, 2009

(BROWNSTOWN) - Jackson County police say the man suspected in the shooting death of his wife near Brownstown cut himself several times afterwards in an apparent suicide attempt.

Jackson County Sheriff Marc Lahrman told the Seymour Tribune that 38-year-old Bryon Bradley of Dudleytown had been charged with murder in the shooting death of his wife, 39-year-old Nancy Bradley, from late Thursday night.

The suspect, according to the paper, remains in Methodist Hospital in under intensive care, but in stable condition.

Lahrman told the Tribune he hopes Bradley's condition improves well enough in the short term to transfer him to Wishard Hospital, which has a secure facility for prison inmates.
