Last updated on Wednesday, December 10, 2008

(SPRINGVILLE) - The children on a school bus in Springville were all okay after a small accident near the Springville store yesterday afternoon.

Lawrence County police report 62-year-old Paul Abel of Bedford was driving his Ford school bus on its route up Brick Street just past IN-54/58 when one of his passengers said he needed to get off at the Springville store, which the bus had just passed.

Abel stopped the bus, and started to back up, and backed right into a car driven by 18-year-old Alexandria Denny of Springville, whom he didn't see.

Nobody was injured in the incident, but all the kids had to be put on another bus to continue their route.
