Bloomington Police Looking For Man In Downtown Attack, Sexual Assault

Last updated on Wednesday, December 17, 2008

(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police are looking for a man in his 40s that is suspected of attacking and sexually assaulting a 20-year-old woman on South Lincoln Street in downtown Bloomington.

The Bloomington Herald Times reports the woman was walking home when a man came up beside her, commented on her looks, grabbed her arms taking her to the ground, pinned her down and fondled her.

The woman didn't stop struggling, however, and was able to get away.

The man is described as being in his 40s, scruffy-looking, white, about 5'10" with a medium build and gravelly voice.

The paper says a similar incident happened on North Lincoln about 6 months ago.

Anyone with information on the assault is asked to call Bloomington police at (812) 339-4477.
