(BLOOMINGTON) - When math and computer geeks get tasked to play with numbers, they have a tendency to do something interesting, like discover the geographic population center of your city.
That's what the City of Bloomington's Information and Technology Services Department did. Bloomington determined the geographic population center of the campus town is just north of Bryan Park near 1st Street.
The City of Bloomington says the information can be used to better city services, and to help make more responsible programming decisions.
